Whale moves
What's a whale move? "Whales" are big investors: funds and institutions trading so much money that they can't buy or sell without leaving footprints, like a sudden burst of trading volume or a sharp push in price. Whalur has tested thousands of strategies on years of market history that look for footprints like these (and for market conditions such as fear in the VIX or swings in oil and interest rates). When one of those strategies fires on a stock right now, that's a whale move: a sign that something which has paid off before is happening again.
Every time Whalur's live monitor detects a whale move, it writes the move up and publishes it here the same second — the asset, the footprint that gave the whale away, the size of the move, the exact timestamp, and a plain-English read of what it means. Nobody edits these. The archive only grows.
